All Axe & Hammer decor and lifestyle pieces are handcrafted in Denton, TX using locally salvaged materials and wood sourced from our own neighborhoods or rescued from discard. When trees need to be removed due to hazard or disease, we consult with urban forestry specialists to salvage them and to give them a second life as high-quality furniture & decor that is truly one of a kind. We also dabble in experimental pieces and abstract works because, well, we make stuff.  It’s what we do.

 

Our tight-knit team keeps the entire process in-house to ensure the highest quality product and attention to detail at every step. When it comes to design, we’re inspired by nature itself. The color, figure, and shape of each individual slab guide our design decisions. All of the knots, unusual grain patterns, and color variation – the “imperfections” that mainstream manufacturers cut away and discard – are the features that give each piece of The Axe & Hammer decor its unique character that can never be replicated.
